“It is my pleasure to announce my enthusiastic endorsement of Angela Fellars for the Winnebago County Board,” said Durbin. “Angela is a tireless advocate for people and is a true servant leader. Her ability to find common ground and bring together sometimes unconventional allies, and her talent for crafting creative, mindful, common-sense solutions to complex issues is exactly the kind of leadership we need more of in government.
The relationships she’s forged during her extensive experience navigating the complexities of local, State, and Federal policy and working within those systems make her uniquely positioned to be an effective advocate for the people of the 19th District and Winnebago County from day one. I am proud to support her.”
“I am excited and grateful to have the support of Senator Dick Durbin,” said Fellars. “Senator Durbin and I agree on the issues that need to be addressed here in Illinois: access to affordable, quality health care, creating jobs and investing in our local economies, and adequately funding our public schools. As a parent, small business owner, and taxpayer, I strongly believe that Winnebago County deserves public officials who share their experiences and concerns. I look forward to fighting for working families on the Winnebago County Board.”
Fellars is a parent of young children, a cancer survivor, and the owner of a business directly affected by COVID-19. She currently works as a policy strategist, writer, and speaker.
Durbin is the senior United States Senator from Illinois and a longtime resident of Springfield. Durbin serves as the Democratic Whip—the second-ranking Democrat in the Senate—and on the Senate Judiciary, Appropriations, Agriculture, and Rules committees.
